We immerse ourselves in virtual reality daily through the Internet of Things. Our "self" image (avatar) is represented on the global internet as abstract data. Technological advancements and science fiction promise us journeys to Mars with the support of robots and VR headsets - enabling individuals to see through the eyes of a robot located on Mars.
How do we look like in the dimension of virtual space? When we put on a VR headset, we have the feeling that our physical body is into cyberspace. How does the process of transition from a physical presence to a virtual one look like? How can our consciousness physically perceive this transition? The project is a scene with an imitation of a mirror, reflection in the mirror is actually a screen with a body sensor. The mirror in this project acts as a symbolic object — a portal to a parallel world, to a Wonderland, to a virtual reality. The art project aims to activate the feeling of transition to virtual reality through a series of reflections in the mirror. In other words, the project aims to create for the viewer a physical sensation of the re-coding body to a cyberspace avatar through a sense of self-identification in the mirror.
